Instructor Biographies
Lindsay Hebert Collins
Lindsay is originally from south Louisiana; she moved to Georgia in the fall of 1995. Lindsay started working at SwimAtlanta as an instructor at the John’s Creek location in May of 2000. Prior to teaching at John’s Creek, she worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor in various neighborhood pools for two summers. While finishing her undergraduate degree at Georgia State University, Lindsay continued to work at the John’s Creek location in the office and teaching lessons. After graduating with a degree in Business Administration, she transferred to the Sugarloaf location and accepted the position as the Swim School Manager. Lindsay’s experience in teaching swim lessons combined with her education in business management and marketing has helped her succeed as a Swim School Manager. Lindsay enjoys being able to do both sides of the business, teaching lessons and managing the lesson program and facility. Lindsay is grateful to have a career where she can make a positive impact on lives by helping children and adults learn to swim or better themselves. Lindsay lives in Suwanee with her husband; in her personal time, she enjoys visiting her family, social gatherings with friends and traveling.
Indya Furlong
Indya has taught swim lessons since 1999. In the spring of 2006, SwimAtlanta was fortunate to have her join our teaching staff. Indya has 7 years life guarding and swim instruction experience, 4 years of competitive swimming and experience in summer league coaching. Indya’s professional behavior and unwavering patience with children is remarkable. Indya enjoys the opportunity to teach so many children and has made lasting relationships and impressions with the families that she has come to know. Indya enjoys impacting children’s lives in a positive way and is encouraged by helping someone overcome their fear of water. Her favorite memory while at SwimAtlanta was helping a brother and sister, who were terrified of swimming go from a basic beginner level, GS1, to the highest pre-competitive level in just 1 year! Indya is finishing her last year in college. She lives in Duluth with her husband and enjoys traveling and taking runs with her Labrador.

Mark holds qualifications and experience in lifeguard instruction, pool management, instruction in all levels of swimming, indoor and outdoor swim instruction, athletic trainer and tri-athletics. Mark relates well to both children and adults. Most children and parents are impressed and thrilled with the way Mark keeps all the kids constantly moving. He is always trying new techniques and new tactics to get results and to make the class interesting. Mark finds his job very rewarding, especially when the children he teaches make it to the swim team.
Justin Latoni
Justin entered the SwimAtlanta family by way of the swim team. He currently trains at the highest level of swim team and has swam competitively since 1999. After life guarding for 3 years with SwimAtlanta Pool Management, in the spring of 2006 Justin decided to change directions and start teaching swim lessons for SwimAtlanta. Justin comes from a large family and this has helped him in the ability to communicate to both children and adults. He keeps his classes fun and is always looking for new and exiting ways to teach swimming skills. In his spare time Justin attends classes at Georgia Perimeter, enjoys watching movies and has the metabolism to eat virtually any thing he wants, which he enjoys demonstrating to all the staff.
Michael Miller
Michael’s first swim lesson was at SwimAtlanta at the age of 4. He has been swimming ever since and now trains and competes on our National Swim Team. Michael has worked for SwimAtlanta since 2002. He loves to work at SwimAtlanta because of the great easy-going atmosphere. Michael has known many of SwimAtlanta’s swimmers, customers and staff for such a long time that he feels SwimAtlanta is like family. He loves to work with children because it has taught him a lot about himself and taught him how to adapt to different types of learning styles. Michael earned his nickname, “L.J.”, here at SwimAtlanta when his got lock jaw while yawning during dry-land workouts.
Vicky Prude
Vicky started with SwimAtlanta as a National Swim Team member. She trained and competed at this level for over 4 years. Vicky is originally from England where she swam competitively since she was six years old. Vicky is an invaluable part of the SwimAtlanta family. She manages the office every Saturday and can assist the company in any part necessary. Vicky is extremely familiar with both the swim lesson and the swim team side of the company. Vicky teaches all levels of swim lessons, and she occasionally assists with coaching. Her knowledge of the sport and her natural ability in teaching has helped her become a very talented instructor. Her favorite level is GS1; she likes to see older children master something that they have never tried before. Vicky enjoys spending time with her nephews and takes advantage of opportunities to travel to England to visit her family.
Jessica Turner
Like other instructors, Jessica started working for SwimAtlanta while training on the swim team. Jessica has swum competitively for SwimAtlanta since 2004 but has been on a team since the young age of 4. Jessica began assisting in the office in 2005; she manages the office in the evenings and occasionally on the weekend. Jessica has experience in life guarding, life guard training and teaching lessons for summer league swim teams. During the summer of 2007, Jessica started training and teaching lessons at SwimAtlanta. She enjoys teaching others to swim and is motivated by their progress. She recalls her favorite teaching memory as being when a beginner level class got over their fear of the deep end and learned to swim 25 yards across the 10 feet lane. Jessica has a passion for swimming and this shows in her teaching skills. It is obvious she wants to pass along her enthusiasm for swimming to the students she teaches. Jessica is a senior in High School and is anticipating starting college in 2008.
